Monnapule Saleng during the Betway Premiership match between Orbit College and Marumo Gallants
Orbit College FC captain Atisang Batsi has praised winger Monnapule Saleng after his standout display in the club’s 1-1 draw against Marumo Gallants on Saturday.
This comes after weeks of scrutiny, with head coach Pogiso Makhoye publicly expressing that the winger had not yet delivered to his expected standard since joining the team on loan from Orlando Pirates.
Speaking at the Carling Knockout launch in Johannesburg on Monday, Batsi was confident Saleng had turned a corner.
“I’m happy that in our previous match, Saleng got Man of the Match. Really, the boy is back, according to me. When he first started with the team, it had been a while since he last played. We were supporting him to get game time. But now, looking at his recent performance, the boy is back. Going forward, it’s going to help this team through our support,” he said, speaking to the media.
Orbit College will be hoping Saleng’s resurgence continues as they look to climb the table and make an impact in the Carling Knockout.
